in winter, horse drawn vehicles still offered many advantages over the
temperamental trucks and lorries which were beginning to replace them. |

Swiss Army. 1943 Switzerland, like many smaller European
nations, still used horse drawn vehicles and artillery well into the
Second World War. |

Swiss Meal Wagon
This 1911 wagon was created by the Swiss in hopes of being able to
provide food for hundreds of starving soldiers. Its design with
designated stoves at the back, make this unique piece of memorabilia
stand out from the traditional wagon. This wagon was handcrafted and is
still in parade condition. It also provides an area for
serving right off the wagon on its drivers side. |
